Looking for a way to monitor/protect your children online? I just setup ‘Family Safety‘ via Microsoft Windows Live. It’s a quick and easy install on each computer, and it has a lot of flexibility on what content you allow them to see when online. It’s free, and all you need is a Windows Live (or Hotmail) account.

HINT: If anyone is looking to upgrade to Windows 7 on their current computer or by buying a new one, a really good tool that Microsoft has is called ‘Windows Easy Transfer‘. This will automatically save your data and settings for all your programs and move them to the new one. Of course, if you need help, I’m always here!

Helpful hint: When setting up a new home computer, create 2 logins: One with administrator rights so that you can install software, printers, etc and a second without these rights, to use as your normal login. This makes it much harder for viruses and spyware to infiltrate your computer since you’re not normally logged in with those rights.
